I am pleased to announce today the launch of Catholic Web Services, a non-profit ministry to serve Catholic parishes, schools, and organizations in using the internet to make better websites and in using the tools of social media. There is a FREE monthly e-newsletter that will keep people updated on the latest news in Catholic internet developments and news. CWS has a forum for discussions and questions, and an informative blog with comments.
We are not the average web service, as we are offering resources, training, and services to support the parish or organizations website. As volunteer webmasters may come and go, Catholic Web Services will offer a service of continued care to keep your site updated until another volunteer is trained to take over the task of running the new media. CWS will also optimize your website for search engines (SEO), and also offer the service to add mobile capabilities to your website.
Ministry
Our ministry is to support an online community of Catholic webmasters, developers, social network gurus, and content creators who will share their knowledge of web development and new media to improve parish, school, and Catholic organization websites.Membership to Catholic Web Services will always be free. Catholic Web Services will be a non-profit organization (we hope to receive our 501(c)3 status later this year). Please join our community and help in making the internet a better support to everyone in service to the church.
Patron Saints
The two patron saints of Catholic Web Services are St. Francis and St. James (The Greater). As Francis was called by God to “Rebuild my Church!,” so too, Catholic Web Services has a calling to help rebuild the digital church. John & Carl are also be fans of the recent movie, The Way, which depicts the famous Catholic pilgrimage in Spain. We too want to show webmasters “the way” to build better and more effective websites using all the latest technologies.
